Course Objective

The aim of this course is to have the students make the applications of tapestry and gobelin weavings in accordance with a chosen theme. By this means, the students advanced level creativity and artistic posture will come in sight.

1   be informed of the history of tapestry weavings,
2   be informed of the tapestry weaving technique,
3   make original designs related to the chosen subject,
4   foresee the finished form of their design,
5   present the design/designs effectively.

The tapestry design/designs will be turned into application in accordance with a chosen subject.

Assessment Criteria

The research portfolio will be evaluated out of 100. besides, the design they will make at the end of the term will be evaluated out of 100. 40 % of the portfolio and 60 % of the design will determine the pass grade.

Course Policies and Rules

80 % attendance is compulsory.
Before the term ends, in the last 15 days, the list showing the students attendance will be announced on the billboards and on the web, the students who fail due to absenteeism will not be evaluated with their studies.
Even if the student has a sick report, he will be considered absent.
