Course Objective

The aim of this course is to inform, theoretically and practical, the students about the current situation of the workshops in Anatolia producing carpets, especially their design problems and solution offers.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   make researches on the current situation of the ceramic centres in Anatolia
2   make researches on forms and decorations of the production workshops
3   be informed of the mud structure of the region
4   prepare solution offers of the workshops in terms of technique and design
5   justify and present the project they have prepared
6   make designs suitable for today s aesthetics concept
7   make comments and presentations on designs

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This course will be given both theoretically and practical. Applications will focus on current tiles. The results will be discussed in class.
