Course Objective

Understanding of cell organization and function. Teaching the biomolecules playing roles in living organisms and their functions. The metabolic pathways and their regulations are also included by the course.

1   To get know about history of molecular medicine
2   Defines the concepts of life
3   Describes the molecular structure and organization of cells
4   To get know about molecular components (carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, enzymes, nucleic acids) and chemistry of the cell.
5   Outlines basic metabolic processes
6   To have general knowledge about basic molecular and cellular mechanisms related to diseases.
7   To be able to get and discuss the articles related subject areas.

7 Molecular components of the cell; Carbohydrates
8 Molecular components of the cell; Lipids

10 Molecular components of the cell; Proteins, enzymes
11 Molecular components of the cell; Nucleic acids, vitamins
12 The Basics of Molecular Metabolism
13 Cell-cell, cell-ECM interactions, microenvironment and their relation to diseases
14 Intracellular and Intracellular Signal Transduction
