Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the students to weave the designs by using basic weave techniques and its derivations in accordance with the given theme. They are supposed to do this by considering the features of the loom and by using the raw material they want, consolidated by weft and warp.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   make designs by using basic weave techniques and their derivations in accordance with design principles,
2   use the technical fund of information while making the design in accordance with the given theme,
3   make a choice on raw materials by considering the features of the loom,
4   produce the designs as of weft-consolidated on the loom,
5   produce the designs as of warp-consolidated.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In this course, We help the students to create their own designs relevant to the subject set before and weave the designs based on the capacity of the armure loom. We also help them to choose the weave and its derivations to make the designs appear effectively as intended after weaving. Trial-and-error is possible during application.
