The aim of the course to prepare students for courses that are related to the traditional textile arts and designs in the four years of B.A. Hons. Education.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have required basic knowledge on historical Turkish textiles

3   Learning knowledge about necessary infrastructure to be able to a desingner
4   To be able to construct a pattern from real objects
5   To be able to design compositions from pattern by one's own design

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In the course
Traditional textile arts will be examined in the light of basic textile design rules and from different angles.
The theoretical aspect of the work will be carried out from the course notes and bibliographical materials provided by the lecturer in charge.
The practical work will be carried out in the ateliers, supervised by the lecturer.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

In the evaluation criterias, priority is given to the appropriateness of student s work to given subjects in design phases and their success in transforming their designs into practical applications.
Student participation in class and cooperation in joint projects will be taken into account.

Assessment Criteria

The student s researches, assignment and projects will be evaluated out of 100. Attendance will be effective on final grade at the rate of 20%.

Course Policies and Rules

80 % attendance is compulsory. Workshop studies are effective. In particular, design applications are to be completed in the lesson.
