Course Objective

It is aimed to develop students' skills in this subject by making different Turkish Islamic calligraphic design applications on the computer.

1   Students can actively use design programs as a drawing tool to perform Turkish Islamic Calligraphy designs.
2   They try different variations for their designs,
3   They can perform manipulations on their designs,
4   They can process the designs in different programs and formats,
5   They can apply their designs to different materials.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The instructor shows the application steps related to the line design projects that the students will perform in the class and expects the students to do similar applications. He also gives guidance on the line design projects and shows practical information.

The evaluation of the course is calculated as 70% Project, 30% Participation in the course.

Assessment Criteria

In the evaluation, the student s participation in the course is determined by the instructor s opinion according to the student s presence in the course and the student s effort to design in the course; the success of the projects is evaluated according to the compliance with the rules of line art, the number of designs made at least as desired and the aesthetic quality of the designs.
