Course Objective

The aim of this course is to design all conditions which are necessary for tile restoration in the buildings and apply the studies the limits of which have been enacted, by using correct rules, techniques and materials.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1- The instructor encourages the students to learn and apply the rules and concepts which are necessary for Tile restoration and leads them to research, strengthen, analyse, complete and reproduce the restoration works by designing. Furthermore, he instructs the order of the acquired data, the basic concepts and their correct application.
The instructor also leads the students to document the project application with the help of technical reports, designs and drawings, and then to turn them into projects.
2- We also teach the students to define the materials for Tile restoration and related by-products and application techniques. The students are supposed to document their applications via a catalogue, report and project; carry out the restorations of different disciplines to be restored with tiles by using parallel applications; make correct field analysis; produce suggestions for correction and exemplify them via applications.

The grading is based on the students attendance by having done preliminary survey, their participation into the solutions and suggestions sensibly, the suitability of their solution suggestions, the complementation of restoration anticipations, and their applications.
Students studies will be evaluated by considering their learning and using the illumination restoration, by the content of assignments and projects and the quality of presentation, the applications of suggestions.
The entire training will be reflected in the projects, reports and assignments created together and will be evaluated with homework grades consisting of 60% projects and 40% forehead and detail studies. You will be informed about the techniques and equipment used in conservation practices, you will develop awareness about the cooperation of different disciplines in applications and projects and create projects and reports.

70 % attendance is compulsory.
Every plagiarism attempt and act will be considered as a disciplinary action.
Any kind of vandalism attempt and act for historical artefacts will be considered as a disciplinary action.
If submitted later than deadlines, the projects and homework will not be evaluated, or out of 100.
