Course Objective

The aim of this course is to have the students make researches in ceramics of different cultures (Iran, China, Japan, Anatolia, Antique Greek, etc.) and identify the technical features of them and make applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   reapply the productions which belong to the centres making productions in Iran in previous periods,
2   learn the ceramics made in China, their periods and technical features, and make new things like them,
3   learn the Japan ceramics, their periods and technical features, and make new things like them,
4   learn the ceramics belonging to the cultures in Anatolia, their technical features and make new things like them,
5   learn Antique Greek ceramics, their technical features, and make new things like them.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In this course, the subjects within the program will be taught theoretically and practically. Applications will be done by recognizing the ceramics and their technical features of different cultures and making new try-outs. The results will be disputed in class.

Because of being both a theoretical and a practical course, the evaluation will be made as both theoretically and the assessment of practicing results.

Mid term, the project and the final exam will be considered in evaluation.

The course will be taught in a laboratory, so the environment should provide an effective study atmosphere and it will be necessary to obey the rules set before. The technique to be applied must be as in the production process as much as possible. Attendance is compulsory.
