Course Objective

It s aimed to teach basic information about ceramic glazes, defining the glaze types, glaze formulas and included oxides , analysing of Seger formulas, glazing techniques and experimenting with prepared glazes.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be capable of classifying the glazes and making expressions about glaze formulas.
2   To have information about aforementioned oxides and raw materials related glazes.
3   To be capable of analysing Seger formulas.
4   To be capable of classifying ceramic glazes.
5   To be capable of distinguishing glazing techniques.
6   To be capable of making experiments with glazes on clay bodies.

Lecturer will guide students via teaching theoretical information about topics, anlaysing Seger formulas and glazing experiments.

1-% 80 Attendance is compulsory.
2-All kinds of pilagiarism will result in disciplinary action.
3- Absence in the course and the late deliverings of homeworks and projects will be considered as a valid excuse.
