Course Objective

To combine historical forms and traditional methods with new and creative developments and studying the effects. To analyse the works of the fashion designers and artists practicing in this field and to be able to create new designs by employing the knowledge gotten from them.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1- To be able to analyse historical clothes with an analytical approach
2   2- To have full knowledge of traditional textile methods
3   3- To study the reflections of the developing technology on fashion
4   4- To have full knowledge of the concepts that come out when the present creative developments are combined with clothing
5   5- To have knowledge about the collections of the fashion designers and artists working on the new and creative developments and to be able to create her own designs

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

During the first few weeks, the lecturer informs students on the course content and sources. The lecturer presents the notes visually she prepared using different sources. During the last five weeks students gives presentation on the collections they designed as introduction and die plates. During these period, the problems are solved by discussing each phase in the classroom.
