Course Objective

The purposes of this course are to explain the practices used for improve teachers competence, to increase understanding of the importance of teacher proficiency for academic and social development of students with special needs, and to understand the importance of teachers proficiency in supporting individual needs.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand the importance of teacher proficiency in academic and social development of students with special needs.
2   Explain the impacts of teacher proficiency on inclusive practices.
3   Review the literature with respect to teacher proficiency in order to identify the current issues related to teacher proficiency and its impacts on students development.
4   Analyze the practices aimed to develop teachers proficiency that work with students with special needs at different school level.
