To help students develop and produce a project, using motion graphics techniques.

1   To be able to produce motion graphics projects.
2   To understand how motion graphics are developed and applied.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Review and analysis of various motion graphics samples; explanation of term projects
2 Pitching: Students presentation of their projects and reference material
3 Students presentation of their source text
4 Students presentation of basic character and/or set design
5 Students presentation of storyboards and/or concept art
6 Students presentation of their audio recordings
7 Animatics presentations and evaluation
8 Introduction to digital set design in a 2.5D environment; production begins
9 Introduction to lighting and working with cameras in animation software
10 A brief introduction to camera- and motion tracking
11 An overview of camera rigs; completion of the production phase
12 Students presentation of rough cuts
13 Students completion and submission of projects
14 Finals presentations and evaluation

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Students are expected to present a fully completed, original, creative and high-quality project by the end of the course.
Course instructor monitors students' work through-out the production.

In-class presentations, participation and weekly progress reports make up 50% of the final grade; completed project makes up the remaining 50%.

Assessment Criteria

The creativity, perception and skill put into the execution of the homeworks will be taken into consideration.
