Modern Cinema History I course has been opened as a common and theoretical lesson for all departments of Department of Film Design.
The aim, content and expected contribution to the students of this course is as follows:
Students taking this course are expected to
*know the countries setting films especially with `national approach in global cinema,
*know and learn their improving cinema concept in accordance with their social and historical periods,
*analyse and comment on sample films of nation films ( Iran, Spain, Hungary, Poland, the Balkans, Far East etc.) and know their important directors and explain their contributions to modern cinema.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   identify `national approach in global cinema,
2   name and classify the countries setting films with the national approach savvy,
3   explain social and historical periods of countries,
4   know and exemplify improving cinema savvy,
5   exemplify and comment on the films of the countries, such as Iran, Spain, Hungary, Poland, the Balkans, Far East,
6   know important national cinemas and their directors in global cinema, and explain their contributions to the global cinema.
