Course Objective

The main objective of this course, after 1950 to give basic information about the formations of Turkish poetry, and give the ability to comment on the course of modern Turkish poetry.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the contemporary Turkish poetry resources, and to establish ties with the past.
2   Trends in contemporary Turkish poetry and comprehend its relations with Western literature.
3   Literary texts of contemporary poems on the application of learned theories.
4   Influence of modern Turkish poetry, political, social and cultural events, comprehend and interpret.
5   Comprehend and analyze the links between literature and other disciplines.
6   Literature to make a comment on current issues and formulate a solution.

1 Themes, communities and formations of Republic period in terms of an overview of Turkish poetry.
2 Formations in the post-1980 Turkish poetry, magazines, trends and themes.
3 Against tradition, and tradition influenced the position of contemporary Turkish poetry.
4 Post-modernism, and language games of Second New Poetry
5 Examples of Second New poets poetry readings
6 From Second New to today interest in contemporary Turkish poetry and other art forms (From Cemal Süreya to Didem Madak)
7 Tradition and the modern age of Âsaf Halet Çelebi's poetry.
8 Mid-term exam
9 Sezai Karakoç's sources of poems, "Lili Yar" and "Monna Rosa" poems.
10 Overview of Gülten Akın's poetry.
11 Ismet Özel, modern life and modern man's criticism of his poetry: "Of Not Being A Jew" poetry.
12 Cahit Zarifoğlu's poetry and contemporary Turkish poetry position
13 Evaluation of tradition and modernism view of Haydar Ergülen s poem
14 Evaluation of Neo-Classical Poetics in Contemporary Turkish Poetry and Celal Fedai poem
