Course Objective

It is aimed in this course to learn concept of democracy and its historical process; and developments about democracy in Türkiye.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to understand the part of democratic regimes in the history of mankind
2   To be able to scope and basis of the history of Turkish Democracy
3   To be able to explain the historical origins of some political arguements which belong to Türkiye at the present day
4   To be able to explain the reasons of the difficulties faced during the democratization process in the Republican Era
5   To be able to analyse the democratic process in Türkiye

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

To review the weekly subjects together with the students after the subjects are re-outlined by the lecturer, based on the pre-course reading process done by the students, and also to encourage the students to make a short presentation on a subject they prefer during the semester (if possible).
