To give students the theoretical equipment required for composing original music
compositions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehend the basic building blocks of music composition.
2   Create the original music compositions in standard forms of music for solo piano, solo instrument / voice + piano.
3   Apply the basic techniques of tonal and atonal (serial, free atonal ect.) music.
4   Compare the various compositional techniques and styles used in the music of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and 20th century periods.
5   Critically can evaluate works of composition.

Exams:
Two written exams will take place during the period, and a student will get 50% of the total achievement score from written exams.
Homeworks:
The students will get 50% of their achievement scores from the composition projects prepared by them during the period.
