Course Objective

Piano: to improve student s piano techniques and provide perception of musical elements by playing more complex pieces from different ages of Western Art Music (Baroque, Classic , Romantic and 2O.Century, Contemporary Turkish Music and genres including jazz, Blues and Pop Music and also it is aimed to gain creativity and distinctiveness of piano playing

Other Instruments:To be able to perform at least 1 instrument in a vocalizible level with tonal (piano,guitar, etc.) or modal/maqam (baglama, oud, classical kemancha) charachteristics.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Perform minimum 1 instrument in a vocalizible level with tonal (piano,guitar, etc.) or modal/maqam (baglama, oud, classical kemancha) charachteristics.
2   Identify the different performing styles in different music genres and play with the choosen instrument.
3   Play the choosen instrument correctly to the technical capabilities(posibilities,features ) of the instrument.
4   Refer to the notes and show them on the choosen instrument.
5   Indicate the key and maqam scales on the choosen instrument.
6   Play the performed songs properly to the required metronom.
7   Perform the required nuances for the performed song.
