Course Objective

Be able to examine the role of historical, cultural, economic, and technologic factors in the development of graphic design and recognize design styles, certain graphic designers, illustrators, and artists from the 1960s to the present.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to have a analytic, conceptual and intellectual point of view with the analyses of economic, cultural and technologic effects over graphic design products
2   Be able to transfer the academic knowledge to his/her profession.
3   Be able to have an information about contemporary graphic designers and design groups that are shaped up graphic design history.
4   Be able to prepare research papers and give seminars about postmodern visual expression styles, design movements, groups and designers
5   Be able to realize the interaction between graphic design and other disciplines
6   Be able to comprehend the development of the graphic design
