Course Objective

The aim of the course is to enlighten the student on the evolution of media as a mass communication and mass manuplation tool. To give the student the notion of a designer, an artist, a thinker. To inform on the social effect of art and design.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to have the sensibility in experimental and artistic production
2   To learn the main headlines of mass communication
3   To be able to have conciousness on the effect of visual mediums in graphic design
4   To be able to have the sensibility of the effects of their production on society
5   To be able to raise their perception of creativity on social communication theories
6   To be able to debate on art, design, sociology, history, antropology on a beginners level

Assessment Criteria

A midterm and a final exam are done. Besides the srudents have to write a research report and attendance, participation in class and seminars are rewarded.
