Course Objective

This cours aims to define metals as sculpture material and the effects to the form in contemporary sculpture examined by samples. Students to design their own projects, the stages of production, planning, process monitoring and recognize to basic metal processing techniques and development of the ability to use them their works

4   To be able to choose the direct expression technique by means of Metal and the basic equipment related to this

Course Contents

1 Introduction and safety equipment in working order. Show examples of metal material, identification, introduction of technical literature. Show samples of material held metal sculpture. Detailed description of the design principles. Description of the exercise work and information about the obtaining materials.
2 Examination and Identification of materials taken by students. Demonstration of the use of hand tools and other technical hardware. start training practices

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Each hardware in the metal workshop, function, operating principles and rules of use are shown
Sample sculptures made with direct expression with metal technique are shown and analyzing the design principles of form and technique are examined.
End of the semester, each student produces two pieces of metal sculpture designed by themselves. If desired, the work can be one of the copies of statues of well-known artists
