Course Objective

It is aimed for the students to be able to transmit their studies into the final material under the light of the technical information and to be able to manage all the process.

1   To be able to plan the sculpture works by foreseeing the technical process,
2   To have information about the materials,
3   To have information about the casting techniques,
4   To be able to transmit the practices to the final materials by using the technical information,
5   To be able to discover the possibilities he/she can utilize the casting techniques in different areas of design.

13 Application in the jewelry workshops
14 Metal sculpture cleaning,Metal sculpture patina

Recomended or Required Reading

Technical equipment in all the casting workshops students go for practice.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Theoretical information is given related to casting techniques (casting by sand mould, casting by wax removal, casting by vacuum, etc.) into which sculpture or many materials that have been three dimensionally designed can be transmitted. Technical information is transmitted by implementing the students works (lead, bronze, aluminum, zamak, etc.) into final materials in the fully equipped casting workshops.
The student experiments the whole technical process on his/her own application and enables the problems he/she encounters to reach a solution under the guidance of the instructor.
