Course Objective

The course objective is to give the students a basic knowledge on the mechanism of heat transfer by radiation as well as the basis on solar angles and the calculation of these angles. Knowledge of how to make a project for domestic water heating system by solar energy is also given in this course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define the basic concepts related to solar energy.
2   Use of charts for hot water preparation with solar energy systems projects.
3   Ability to calculate and to make projects for hot water preparation with solar energy systems.
4   To calculate the angles of related to the sun and day length.
5   To calculate the local time and solar time.
