Course Objective

Etiopahtogenesis of Psychotic disorders, especially Schizophrenia, will be extensively analysed in terms of genetic, molecular, radiological, neuroanatomical and neurochemical ways

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Getting knowledge of dimensional approach, viral hypotheses in etiology, birth complications and immune system dysfunctions in Schizophrenia
2   Learning neuroanatomical and neurochemical models and neurophysiological studies in pathophysiology of schizophrenia
3   Getting knowledge of stress diathesis model in schizophrenia, role of drug abuse in etiology, post-mortem studies and migration defects
4   Learning about developmental theory and genetics in schizophrenia
5   Getting knowledge of molecular biology and anti-psychotic drugs
