Course Objective

The aim of this course is to equip phD students in biochemistry with the skills to effectuate literature search, obtain current information on a specific topic, to synthesize the information acquired, to compose a report and to present this report orally, with the involvement of discussions with the audience.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Acquire knowledge and information on the basic principles of medical biochemistry and on medical terminology
2   Acquire knowledge and information on specific applications of analytical and molecular biologic techniques.
3   Critically analyse information
4   Formulate a synthesis of the information acquired and adapt it to new situations
5   Evaluate research in the field and make comments
6   Access information through data bases in the field and utilize the information obtained
7   Possess expertise in research systematics
8   Transfer knowledge in academic and professional environments
