Course Objective

The object of the course is to teach the knowledge about the subject, the scope, methodological approaches and methods of ethnomusicology discipline that works music in its cultural context and practicing them in scientific researches. As from 1990 s music education, popular music etc. subjects came in the domain of ethnomusicology which deals with music in aspects of physical, aesthetical, pschycological and cultural contexts. Thus, the approaches and methods of ethnomusicology take place efficiently in music generally and music education researches.

1   Knows the definition and the scope of ethnomusicology.
2   Knows the main approaches influenced the discipline of ethnomusicology.
3   Knows socio-cultural contexts of music as entity of culture.
4   Knows the methods of ethnomusicology.

6   Achieves the skill of making scientific researches in ethnomusicology.
