Course Objective

To learn how the paleogeographic conditions are determined throughout geological eras.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn how to uncover the paleogeographical conditions by the scientific branches which directly related to paleogeography
2   To learn how to make use of natural sciences which indirectly related to paleogeography by using of the principle of actualizm
3   To learn how to determine the natural traces which reflect the paleogeographical conditions at the present time
4   To learn the paleogeographical conditions in geological times
5   Learning the contributions of paleogeography in explaining of today s geographical features

2 Indirect related scientific branches to paleogeography.
3 Directly related scientific branches to paleogeography
4 Paleoclimatology and its contribution to paleogeography.
5 Paleontology, paleoecology, paleobiogeography and their contribution to paleogeography.
6 Climageomorphology
7 Stratigraphy, historical geology, archeology, radiometry and their contribution to paleogeography.
8 General Review, Course Evaluation, Midterm Exam
9 Data which bring out paleogeographical evolution.
10 Geological, geomorphological and palinological data
11 Excursion for practice
12 Paleosols, paleontological and dendrocronological data.
13 Relic ad endemic plants, historical-archeological, prehistorical and radiometric data
14 The paleogeographical evolution along the geological eras: Precambrium and Paleozoicum. Mesozoicum, Tertiary and Quaternary
