Course Objective

The main aim of the course is to analyze the shipping business strategies in tramp and liner markets.

1   Analyzing the investment decision and timing of the ship owners
2   Understanding how fleet composition and size decisions are given
3   Understanding how routing, scheduling, port rotation, network design and hub location decisions are given in liner shipping
4   Understanding the marketing strategies in liner and tramp shipping
5   Understanding the cost reduction and operational strategies in shipping
