Course Objective

To examine the stagnation and decline periods of Ottoman Empire.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learns political history of stagnation and decline periods of Ottoman Empire.
2   Analyzes the factors of stagnation and decline of Ottoman Empire.
3   Compares Ottoman Empire and the West in the time period of stagnation and decline.
4   Evaluates socio-economic and cultural problems of Ottomans faced in Anatolia, Balkans, and Africa
5   Apprehends and evaluates Ottomans modernization attempt
