To enable the students to apprehend early sources and contemporary studies by comparing them.

1   Comprehends how to read and evaluate studies of Islamic History
2   Learns how Waqidi examines the narrations
3   Understands the thoughts of al-Rais about history in his al-Kharaj
4   Learns the characteristics of Islamic Historians in al-Duri s studies
5   Learns the criticism al-Duri directs towards Islamic historians
