Course Objective

Course Objective: To examine the science of Hadith which was largely formed with all its subjects from the Prophet until the end of the third Hijri century in terms of its history.
To investigate the characteristics and stages of Hadith Literature which started with writing of oral information and the classification of written information.
To recognize the works that have been written in hadith science in early and developmental periods.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students understand the position and status of the Hadith in the Time of Prophet.
2   Students evaluate the discussions on the hadith prohibition and permission by considering the differences in approach.
3   Students understand the formation process of Hadith Sciences. And they recognize features of Hadith Works which both the written documents of the Prophet s period and the Works after the death of the Prophet

1 The Origin, importance and evolution of the Hadith
2 The first source of Hadith: The companions and their narrations of Hadith
3 The situation of Hadith narration in the period of the Prophet. The reasons prohibition of writing hadiths and allowing to write hadith.
4 Written documents in the period of Prophet
5 The Hadith documents which written By the Companions in the life of the Prophet.
6 Spread of Hadiths in the time of the Sahaba and Tabi; er-Rihle and science centers of their period.
7 Developments and the reasons for the hadith fabrication and Countermeasure. The emergence of science of Cerh and Ta dil
8 Midterm exam
9 Differences between tedvin and tasnif. And the attitudes of oriantalists about Tasnif
10 The classification activities in the first Period of Hadith. Hadith documents which transmitted to the present day.
11 Types of Hadith Books in the Tasnif Period (Sahifa, Juz, Books)
12 Types of Hadith Books in the Tasnif Period (Musannaf, Musnad, Mu jam)
13 Types of Hadith Books in the Tasnif Period (Jami and Sunan)
14 Types of Hadith Books in the Tasnif (Mustadrak, Mustakhraj, Arba in) Common features of books of Hadith in the Tasnif Date
