Course Objective

The aim of the course is to analyze the approach of region, new regional policies, rural and urban regional planning and administrative structurings in ensuring efficiency in urban services and to evaluate the success of these structurings for sustainable cities

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Acquainted with Regional administration main principles and international elements.
2   Conscious of theoretical models concerning with regional administration and main crisis.
3   Recognizing main legislation and international principles while providing fundamental public services related to regional administration.
4   Become skilful at determining and preventing the problems, understanding administrative and political improvements for regional conflicts which are concurred the past.
5   Getting familiar about European Council Regional Approaches.
6   Foreseeing structures oriented regional development strategy for Türkiye.
7   Become skilful at ability of using proceeding techniques for regional reconciliation strategies.

1 Introduction, general information about the course, explanation of the concepts in general terms, evaluation of the importance of the course in the learning plan.
2 Basic concepts about the course and meeting the students
3 Region, regional government and approach of region in the legislation of Türkiye
4 Approach of region in techniques of thinking and strategic planning
5 Approach to urban and regional government in the agreements of Council of Europe
6 International approaches in Urban and Regional planning activities, report analyses
7 Regional development and structurings
8 Regional development in Türkiye and regional development strategies in international reports
9 Participatory and negotiation models in the process of regional development
10 Development Agencies and experience of Türkiye
11 Technology and Development Agencies, e-governance
12 Sustainability Scenario in Development Agencies
13 Sustainability Scenario in Development Agencies
14 General evaluation and reminder, reviewing the degree of achievement of the learning outcomes of the course by making a situation analysis of the period.
