Course Objective

The aim of the course is to deal with the elements of ancient Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Anatolian, Greek and Roman mythologies in various aspects.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
2   have the scientific literature related to the content of the course.
3   define the main concepts and facts related to the subject.
4   understand the place and importance of myths in historical research.
5   identify major ancient mythological writers and their works.
6   explain the interactions between Eastern and Western mythologies and the characteristics of both.
7   identify certain symbols of gods and goddesses.
8   imagine ancient life in the light of myths.
