Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to achieve a necessary understanding of the historical development of democracy in the past 500 years that was emerged as a result of modernization, the types of democracy and its examples from all over the world.

1   1. The scope and basis of the history of democracy
2   2. The political, social, and economic heritage of the Ancient Greece and the Middle Age in terms of democracy
3   3. The relationship between modernization and democracy
4   4. The comparisons of the modernization approaches and the types of democracy
5   5. The democracy examples out of the West and their problems
6   6. The systems of the constitution supremacy and the parliament supremacy
7   7. The fundamental conditions for the development of democracy
