Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to achieve a necessary understanding of the process of peace and establishment of union among European countries which have internal and external conflicts with each other.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. The scope and basis of the European Union
2   2. The phases of development of modern Europe whose origin can be traced to the Middle
3   3. The relationships between the struggles for raw materials and energy resources after the Industrial Revolution and the formation of the basis of the European Union
4   4. The process of integration of Europe whose members had battles and made peaces with each other
5   5. The shift from a union for coal and steel to a union for a common market and the contributions of the European Union to the democracy in Europe
6   6. The reasons of the delay of Türkiye s European Union membership that is a process started in 1959
7   7. The regional alliances in the world and the position of the European Union
