Course Objective

The students are expected to acquire a global knowledge of admiralty law.

1   1. Defining characteristics of Marine Jurisdiction areas,
2   2. Determining the areas of Marine Jurisdiction of the coastal state authorities
3   3. Examination of Marine Jurisdiction areas and developments in Turkey and the world,
4   4. Monitoring the developments related to international maritime conventions,
5   5. To analysis of Judicial organs of international maritime law and related conclusions.

2 internal waters - The scope of inland waters and legal regime, - internal waters of the turkish law limits
3 territorial waters - The concept of territorial waters, of width and the legal regime - Problem of the territorial waters of the Aegean Sea
4 International passage through the Straits and the Turkish Straits
5 Archipelagic waters
6 Contiguous Zone
7 Exclusive economic zone - On the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean exclusive economic zone

9 The concept of the continental shelf and the latest developments related to Turkey
10 The high seas
11 International Sea Bed and Marine Resources Utilization
12 Marine scientific research in the areas of Marine Jurisdiction
