Course Objective

By this course, laboratory animals will generally introduced and information about basic principles of nutrition, housing and breeding, basic laboratory principles to be fallowed during animal studies, basic surgical rules, basic anesthesia rules and animal disposal rules are aimed to gain the students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to understand general characteristics of laboratory animals
2   To be able to assimilate basic information about production and breeding techniques of laboratory animals
3   To be able to assimilate basic information about nutrition and housing of laboratory animals
4   To be able to understand basic anesthesia and surgery techniques in experimental animal studies
5   To be able to assimilate basic laboratory principles about experimental animal studies
6   Learning new technologies in laboratory animal science.
