Course Objective

Acquire the knowledge and ability to perform routine subjective audiological tests.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To determine the degree and type of hearing loss using audiological tests.
2   To be able to perform acoustic immitansmeter and acoustic reflex test.
3   To be able to perform and interpret otoacoustic emissions.
4   To be able to interpret acoustic reflex tests.
5   To be able to perform speech audiometric tests.
6   To be able to interpret pure tone tests, speech audiometric tests and acoustic immitancemeter.
7   To be able to perform and interpret audiotory brainstem response test techniques.
8   Be able to define masking and describe its purpose.
9   Know when to use masking and how to mask in pure tone and speech audiometry procedures.
