Course Objective

In this course it is aimed to provide an overview of prevention and management of chronic disease and graduate nurses who can recognises the growing need for health professionals to be able to practise and lead interdisciplinary healthcare teams working in the areas of chronic disease, chronic illness

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand basic concepts about chronicle disease and develop strategies for caring of patients who have chronicle disease
2   To integrate the knowledge from about management of chronicle disease to other areas and to build new knowledge
3   To convert the acquired theoretical and practical knowledge of the behavior of the level of expertise
4   To be able to evaluate Information relating to the management of chronic diseases
5   To transfer current developments and own studies in the management of chronic diseases as written, oral and visual presentations to transfer
6   To consider scientific and ethical values concerning chronic disease management in the data collection and interpretation
7   To reflect information about management of chronicle disease to nursing care by using problem solving skills.

Assessment Criteria

Presentation skill of the student, her/his preparation to the subject and participation in discussions will be assessed as the midterm exam.
The skills of interpretation, decision making, explanation and knowledge combination will be assessed in the final exam.
