Course Objective

Learning the basic concepts of circulatory physiology, explain the changes of these concepts in diseases

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the principles of contraction of heart muscle and electrical and chemical events in the heart muscle
2   To understand the physiological functioning of the heart, heart valve functions, heart sounds and the mechanisms of events in a heart cycle
3   To be able to explain the properties of normal ECG
4   To understand the functional mechanisms of circulation, regulation and control of blood pressure
5   To be able to evaluate the pathologies of the heart's conduction system and the pathophysiological evaluation of heart failure

10 Functions of arterial and venous systems
11 Microcirculation, capillary fluid exchange
12 Local control of blood flow, neural regulation of the circulation
13 Neural control of blood pressure
14 Long-term regulation of blood pressure
15 Final exam.
