Learning the basic concepts of digestive system physiology; to understand the changes in the cellular mechanisms in digestion and absorption processes.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To explain the mechanism of motility of gastrointestinal tract
2   Explain the digestive mechanisms of foodstuffs
3   To understand the absorption mechanisms of foodstuffs
4   To be able to comprehend the circulatory and neural innervation of the gastrointestinal tract
5   To be able to explain regulation mechanisms of digestive canal functions
