Course Objective

Comprehending contemporary approaches in science education and being able to have the knowledge related to basic concepts which must be learned in science lessons.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to have the knowledge about basic aims of science teaching which take part in primary third and fourth grades.
2   Being able to comprehend the contemporary approaches and teaching models in science which take part in primary science education.
3   Being able to develop samples and activities appropriate with such approaches.
4   Being able to evaluate these activities.
5   Being able to develop problem solving, critical thinking and creative thinking skills.

7 Argumentation based science teaching
8 An overview, Course evaluation, Midterm exam
9 Concept cartoons and concept map, mind map in teaching science
10 Project and Problem based learning in teaching science
11 Using Analogies and Drama in teaching science
12 Discussing teaching methods in different countries -1
13 Discussing teaching methods in different countries -2
14 Evaluating methods, techniques and the content of the lesson
