Course Objective

The main objective of this course is to inform students about the basic principles of academic writing and to improve students' academic writing skills in chemistry education.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. know the differences between academic writing and other writing types.
2   2. explain the differences between academic writing types.
3   3. know the elements of academic texts.
4   4. know the basic rules in academic writing.
5   5. prepare academic writing samples in chemistry education.

1 1. week. Examples of academic writing types: Poster, Paper, Article and dissertation
2 2. week. Overview of thesis writing rules and thesis chapters.
3 3. week. Elements to be considered while writing research problems and examples of problem suitable for different research types.
4 4. week. Writing summary and keywords
5 5. week. Points to be considered when writing the introduction part in the research
6 6. week. Method in qualitative research
7 7. week. Method in quantitative research
8 8. week. Method in mixed research
9 9. week Writing results.
10 10. week Writing conclusions
11 11. week Writing discussions and suggestions.
