Course Objective

Turkish and world literature and the works of important artists of the interaction of land, benefiting from other forms of discipline, literary current understanding of the format of the affected mutually discussed through the works, be affected and the universal message and values to be determined.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the interactions between the Turkish and world literature works of important artists.
2   Literature will be the researcher to develop ties with the Turkish literature outside
3   To understand the universal themes and messages in literature, literature, history, politics and philosophy, and its ties with other disciplines to analyze, understand and search
4   To become aware of current and trends in world literature, to interpret the effects of Turkish literature.
5   Evaulating well the place of Turkish literature in the world literature
6   Eastern and Western literatures, literacy, and religious-community relations, government and society reflected in the works to detect and compare the dimensions.
7   Eastern and Western literature written literary products linguistic material (image, metaphor, and literary arts) to compare.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Comparative Literature in the light of the concept of different sources mean that evaluation, discussion and scientific literature for the importance of the area determination, will be examined during the course of work with students to evaluate and list of resources
2 In the light of different sources of the concept of Comparative Literature examination, discussion and the importance for the detection of the literature of science, comparative literature, belongs to the same literary works made between whether the discussion can not be made
3 Evaluation criteria for how studies in Comparative Literature
4 Intertextual concept, and the open nature of the intertextual relations to read about the examples.
5 Selected works of Turkish literature on the Tanzimat era with the help of resources between Western works will be monitored.
6 Halit Ziya's novel Aşk-ı Memnu will be compaired the novel Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert
7 On the Poems by Ahmet Hâşim will be studied of the influence of the French Symbolist and Impressionist
8 Mid-term exam
9 The novel by Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu Sodom and Gomorre and Marcel Proust s Sodom and Gomorra will be compaired.
10 Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet and Fuzuli s Leyla and Mecnun will be compaired.
11 Kafka's stories and Oğuz Atay's stories to be compared
12 Turkish and World Literature in the major historical novels considered leaving date of the shape will be compaired.
13 Comparison of Pedro's Journey Compulsory to Istanbul with O. Pamuk's novel The White Castle.
14 The Novel by Robert Musil Needles Man and Yusuf Atılgan a novel Idly Man will be compaired.
15 Final exam
