Course Objective

The course aims to analyze the events that led to Turkish War of Independence, development process of the war, Turkey s relations with foreign states and its policies in application, encountering the global issues that is in change and transformation during the period of time till Treaty of Lausanne.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have knowledge about the literature related to the War of Independence and to be able to perform comparative assessment on the references.
2   To be able to list the fundamental concepts related to the War of Independence and to be able to perform comparative interpretation of these concepts
3   To be able to explain the events occurred within the course of the War of Independence and their nationwide and worldwide impacts
4   To be able to assess the aspects of the evolution noted by Turkey from the War of Independence to present.
5   To be able to express the significance of the War of Independence within the world history.
