Course Objective

Today, our world is getting smaller due to the new technology age (borderless world), and international business can be created with a click of the mouse. International business refers to the trade and investment activities by companies across national borders. Trade or globalization of markets refers to ongoing economic integration and growing interdependency of countries worldwide. The growth of international business activity coincides with the broader phenomenon of globalization of markets. The objective is to familiarize students with the international business environment by concentrating on business and management functions. Logistics and maeritime businesses will be the case study of this course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learning the international business environment (socia, legal, political, economic, technologic, natural, cultural, demographic)
2   Analyzing international business environment through the perspective of business management, trade theory, economic relations.
3   Learning and applying actors, relations and business management functions in international business
4   Understanding the procedures in international business (selection of the country, strategies for entering international market )
5   Solving and managing international business problems and sharing their solutions in written/oral forms (presentation of the homeworks)
