Course Objective

The aim of this course is to ensure a knowledge regarding the norms of maritime law, provide a general view of international maritime conventions and ensure the students to make connection between norms and maritime transportation applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Identifying the coastal states rights in maritime zones
2   Following up the improvements of international maritime conventions
3   Determination of the importance of maritime conventions in maritime transportation
4   Determination of the function and importance of International Maritime Organization
5   Interpreting the major parts of the conventions

6 Conventions relating to maritime safety and security and ship/port interface -LL - International Convention on Load Lines, 1966. -STCW - International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers
7 Mid-term Exam
