Course Objective

To get students to apprehend the schools of Western philosophy of history with their backgrounds, problems, motivations, struggles, and representatives which developed from the 19th century to present day; and so, to be able students to make methodical discussion and presentation on the essential problems of human being, to create prevision on the life, to express their previsions systematically, to build a sensitive and well-equipped personality for 'entity', 'life' and 'history'.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   will learn the movements of philosophy of history and their representatives in which appeared in the 19th and 20th centuries known as 'the century of history' in the West
2   will be able to discuss the theories of history and their backgrounds with their essential questions
3   will make connection between the theories and realities and specify the features guiding today and future
4   will glance Islamic world in the 19th and 20th centuries in terms of the thought of history
5   will be able to question some history thesis and to compare them in terms of the meaning and direction of history
