Course Objective

This course aims the students to understand the scope of cultural heritage tourism, cultural heritage conservation and management and importance of developing and preserving cultural and heritage resources. The range of cultural heritage assets that can become viable tourism attractions and ways of linking quality cultural heritage tourism to community development; skills and roles of cultural heritage tourism professionals as they are related to the historic preservation field as well as the business environment with particular emphasis on marketing.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Receive a sound theoretical formation in the mediation of contemporary issues in cultural resource management.
2   Prepare themselves to be effective leaders and actors in the public arena of cultural heritage
3   Equip themselves with a range of practical skills that will make them more efficient professionals
4   Select and apply a variety of methods for evaluating cultural heritage resources
5   Prepare a professionally designed management plan for a specific cultural heritage resource
