Course Objective

To enable the students to learn and evaluate the theoretical approaches to globalization in a multidimensional and interdisciplinary perspective and in terms of the philosophical ground of the phenomenon of globalization

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to learn and evaluate the morphological structure and definition of the concept of globalization.
2   To be able to research and assess the historical roots of the process of globalization.
3   To be able to understand and assess multidimensionality of globalization in terms of an interdisciplinary view
4   To be able to learn and explain the approaches to globalization
5   To be able to assess Turkey s situation in the process of globalization, on the basis of the theoretical approaches

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

To explain the theoretical approaches for evaluating all dimensions of globalization in accordance with the basic references and articles, and to enable the students to undertake researches on the cases and institutions and to discuss them.
