Course Objective

The aim of this course to analyze the roles played by financial markets and institutions in the process of capital accumulation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to understand the position of finance in the political economy literature
2   To be able to understand the functioning of financial markets position in within the social whole
3   To be able to learn development of finance in the the historical process.
4   To be able to analyze how countries which emerging hegemonic power position in history use financial mechanisms in the process of capital accumulation.
5   To be able to associate basic concepts of political economy, modern financial instruments and mechanisms.
6   . To be able to criticize Neoclassical financial economics with political economys the main arguments
7   To be able to understand capitalist economic crisis and the role of financial mechanisms in depression as holistic
